We welcome Alan Tucker as a new contributor to Glory Magazine where he will be ‘Revealing God’s Glory’ through his God-given talent and passion for photography.
A few weeks ago during my evening prayers, I asked God to reveal to me how I could better serve Him. The following morning, I sat down at my computer to check E-mails, and there was one from Angela Errett. Angela asked if I would be interested in sharing a photo or two with an accompanying story regarding the picture in each edition. If so, she suggested that I call it “Al’s Corner.” Rather than focusing on me, I prefer “Revealing God’s Glory,” as that is what I hope to be able to do.
I am abundantly blessed. First and foremost is to have a friend and Savior in Jesus. Why God would love me and want to have a relationship with me, just blows my mind. I am so lucky He didn’t give up on me. But, knowing that I am a little slow on the uptake, he pursued me and pursued me so he could reveal His glory to me. I now understand He wants a relationship with everyone.
One of my great joys is His gift of photography. It allows me to experience His glory up close and personal. The magnificence of His creation is awe-inspiring. What beauty he entrusted to our care, while we serve Him here on earth until he’s ready to take us home. As we go forward, I will do my best to reveal that glory with my photos and in my stories.
This opening photo is one of my favorites. It was taken at Tangier Island, a very tiny island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay. It is about a ninety-minute ferry ride from the Virginia Eastern Shore. While there, I was struck by the crosses that were placed across the island. This one I believe reveals God’s ultimate glory, a risen Christ. It seemed appropriate to kick off this new series “Revealing God’s Glory.”
