narrow path, strait gate, the door

The Narrow Way

The Narrow Way
Read Time:3 Minute

What will the world look like when God is no longer present? When His hand of mercy is removed for the judgment of the wicked? I do not think even the godless people of the world can fathom the amount of darkness that will prevail when that time comes. Hollywood pumps out scenarios with black-hearted agendas and manifestos, yet, we have never lived in a time when some form of God’s grace was not present. There is only a narrow way..

The story of the Strait Gate, also known as the Narrow Door or Way, is found in Luke 13: 22-30. Jesus tells us to strive (contend with adversaries, fight, obtain for a prize), to be led by the Spirit of Truth in the place of assembly, the arena, the land of the living. We are to enter (to go out or come in) at (through, on account of) the strait gate where balance is obtained in our thoughts, actions, and emotions. The hinge, the corner of the gate, is fastened to the wood with nails which provides the strength to work. You cannot hold a door in place by yourself and simultaneously walk through it! The power of the gate must be established by another for your passage. God the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit are the rightful keepers of the Narrow Way.

Jesus Tells Us About The Narrow Way

Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?” He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ “But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’ “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

Luke 13:22-30 NIV

God’s ways are beyond our comprehension, yet, He gives utterance to these hidden mysteries through the prophets, yesterday and today. Things He has established before time, including the narrow way, that will work out for His will over the earth and for all who have been upon it.

Does God know your name? Are you ready for when He stands up, shuts the door, and His presence is no longer accessible through the gate? Will you then stand at the Door, without His Spirit residing in you, on the other side, and then knock? Asking to be in His midst? For a short while longer, He will be standing, desiring all to enter in. Yet, many will follow traditions and a form of holiness, never obtaining the pearl of great price because of their lack of relationship with the only one who can save them from the darkest dark that will ever be upon the face of the world. Make way for the Spirit to call to you and establish your name in the mind of Christ. Without Jesus, the Christ, there is no other way to obtain your freedom.

Blessings and honor,
