Who is the Enemy of God?

Read Time:1 Minute

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:6-7 KJV

Our battle is truly a spiritual one. It’s a battle taking place above our head and between our eyes every day. Our mind is set against God. However, only God knows the hindrances in each of our lives. He knows the iniquity, the secret sin that no one knows about, or that has been passed on and taught through generations without being removed by believing and having faith in God’s Word. Our minds are where the lies of the enemy reside. It is in the darkness, in unseen thoughts, a place that is not tangible–spiritual–and that is where the lack of knowledge of what God said and the understanding of how the position of not knowing the Truth must be dealt with–spiritually.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” So, the opposite of faith is sight. The physical realm that can be seen, instead of glorifying God by aligning with what He said, now works continuously to show us the opposite! We must focus our spiritual eyes on God’s Word, believe, and it will manifest and do His will in the earth! (See Matthew 14:14-33 where Jesus teaches this very lesson. First, the meal is made from 5 loaves and two fish. Second, Peter didn’t understand yet that he must stand on the Word, not on the water!)

Words and thoughts are spirit until they are spoken or written. Once spoken or written and believed upon, they will manifest in the physical. Knowledge of God was first spoken, then God chose Moses to write the Word down. But before God ever said, “Let there be light!” in the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 KJV)
